Adult SEL: Taking Care of Yourself First

As educators launch the new school year in the Northern hemisphere, it’s a great time to reflect on how we will take care of ourselves. I had the pleasure of sharing some thoughts about adult SEL with Jorge Valenzuela in the inaugural SEL in Action podcast: 3 Ways to Restore Our Emotional Well-being Before We Gear Up for the Next School Year. Two other outstanding guests, Hedreich Nichols and Dr. Dana Goodier also shared their wisdom.

Interested in more SEL and PBL tips? I will continue to offer virtual and in person coaching and workshops throughout the school year outside of my teaching commitments.

Combine SEL and PBL for Super Powered Learning

I had the privilege to record a podcast with Batsheva Frankel over at Overthrowing Education. We had a great conversation. I told some stories and shared some tips from the classroom. We specifically discussed the importance of formative assessment, rather than grades to grow SEL competencies in students.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

Interested in how you can create a positive culture by developing SEL skills integrated in your classroom? Check out my virtual workshop this summer! I am also booking workshops with schools across the country on PBL and SEL.
